UR Decision Fax Preferences

When an RFA is faxed from daisyAuth, the RFA form and the fax cover sheet include the fax number used to receive Utilization Review (UR) decisions back from claims administrators.

Every practice manages faxes for UR Decisions differently. Read on to see how your practice can manage these UR Decisions.

Step 1. On the navigation bar, click ‘Billing Providers’, then click the ‘Gear’ icon

This will navigate directly to the Settings for the specified Billing Provider.

Alternatively, select Manage All Billing Providers to view all the Billing Providers associated with your account.

The Manage All Billing Providers and the gear icon are limited to users with the Role of Administrator.

If your account only has one Billing Provider, click ‘Settings’, and move to Step 3.  Settings is limited to users with the Role of Administrator.

Step 2. Select the ‘Billing Provider’ to update

Step 3. Click the ‘RFA Settings’ tab

This tab is only available for California Billing Providers.

Step 4. Click ‘UR Decision Fax Preferences’

Step 5. Select UR Decision Fax Preference

Select one of the four ways to set UR Decision Fax Preference:

daisyAuth Fax Number (Recommended and FREE)

Single Fax Number

Practice Location Fax Numbers

Practice Contact Fax Numbers

5a.daisyAuth Fax Number (Recommended)

With this option, daisyAuth assigns your Billing Provider a free fax number and updates RFAs and RFA Coversheets to use this fax number.  When UR Decisions are faxed to this number daisyAuth automatically creates a task to notify your practice.

When a UR Decision document can be matched to RFA, a UR Decision Received task automatically generates to alert a designated user to review the document and update daisyAuth with the status of each Requested Treatment included on the document (approved, denied, modified, etc).

If a UR Decision document cannot be autmatically matched to an RFA, a Match UR Decision task generates to alert a designated user to review the document and match it to the corresponding RFA.  Once the UR Document is matched to an RFA, a UR Decision Received task is generated to alert a designated user to review the UR Decision document and update daisyAuth with the status of each Requested Treatment included on the document (approved, denied, modified, etc)..

This free feature eliminates the need to manually track and match received UR decisions to your RFAs. 

Note: Once you opt-in to use a daisyAuth fax number, you will need to reach out to the Help Center to deactivate it.

Click ‘daisyAuth’ Fax Number

Designate a user for ‘Match UR Decision’ task and ‘UR Decision Received’ task. These users can be updated at any time from RFA Task Preferences

 

Click ‘Confirm’ once your preferences have been set.

5b. Single Fax Number

All RFA forms and fax cover sheets will be populated with a single practice fax number, provided by you, to receive UR Decisions.

Click Edit to change the fax number.

5c. Practice Location Fax Numbers

RFA forms and fax cover sheets will be populated with the fax number assigned to the specific practice location selected on the RFA form to receive UR Decisions.

If this option is chosen, when adding new Practice Locations in the future, Fax Number will be required.

Click Edit next to each location to change the fax number.

5d. Practice Contact Fax Numbers

RFA forms and fax cover sheets will be populated with the fax number assigned to the Practice Contact selected on the RFA form to receive UR Decisions.

If this option is chosen, when adding new Practice Contacts in the future, Fax Number will be required.

Click Edit next to each Practice Contact to change the fax number.

Step 6. Click ‘Save Changes’
