daisyBill can generate and export 835 electronic EORs for all valid EORs posted to daisyBIll, including paper EORs posted manually into daisyBill.
EORs exported by daisyBill are not the 835s returned by claims administrators to daisyBill, they are recreations of these EORs with the same payment data.
daisyBill generates recreations of 835 electronic EORs for several reasons:
- Payers often have math errors or other types of errors in their electronic EORs or send back duplicate electronic EORs. In daisyBill these are identified as ‘Invalid EORs’ and are not posted to bills. daisyBill does not export 835 files for electronic EORs identified as invalid.
- 835s can be exported from daisyBill for bills manually posted from a paper EOR in daisyBill. This means a paper EOR can be posted in one place (daisyBill) and an 835 can be exported for the EOR to automatically post into another system.
- Electronic EORs returned to daisyBill contain daisyBill bill identifiers. Electronic EORs created by daisyBill can utilize bill identifiers for other systems (if present in daisyBill).
Voided EORs
Voiding an EOR in daisyBill will result in the export of a negative 835.
835 Export Delivery Method
Your files are exported to an external SFTP folder hosted by daisyBill. You can find your 835 files in the ‘Outbound_x12’ directory of the SFTP Folder within a few minutes of posting in daisyBill.
835 File Naming Convention and File Extension
Naming Conventions for 835 files can include the Billing Provider FEIN and/or Billing Provider ID and will always include a unique transmission ID.
835s can be delivered in variety of file extensions. Common file extensions include .x12, .txt, and .835.
835 Export Fees
A fee of $0.50 per file is incurred when exporting 835. A ‘file’ is the payment information for a single payment.
Example 1: Check #12345 is posted to one bill - one 835 file is created
Example 2: Check #9998 is posted to 10 bills (as a multiple bill payment) - one 835 file is created
Historical 835 Exports
No. 835s are only exported after exports have been enabled for your account. However, an export of historical 835s for a specific date range can be made available for an additional fee.
