Summary

For medical services rendered on and after January 1st, 2014, the RBRVU Physician Fee schedule consists of 48 Regulations. Knowing and understanding these additional fee-affecting regulations is critical to determining the correct reimbursement for services.

Per section 9789.12.10, the AMA’s Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) is applicable to all bills submitted, except:

• when the Physician Fee Schedule conflicts with the CPT, the fee schedule will take precedence over the CPT, and
• as otherwise specified in the regulations.
