Reporting Requirements

For a Complete Bill, Georgia requires providers to submit supporting documentation with a bill for services. The following table lists the types of attachments that may accompany a bill to fulfill this supporting documentation requirements.

E-Billing Mandate

The Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation has mandated that healthcare providers should file their bills electronically unless they meet certain exception criteria. Rule 61 in the Board Rules and Regulations (PDF) requires that forms be filed with the Board electronically through ICMS or EDI, unless otherwise authorized.

Additional Billing Requirements

Rule 61 also stipulates that a worker should report an accident within 30 days or risk losing the right to receive compensation. Furthermore, all attachments “shall contain the employee’s name, date of injury, and Board claim number.”
